nextWhat is the Technology Proficiency Exam?

Students must possess basic computing skills if they are to be successful using the technologies on campus. To ensure that new students have the basic computing skills, the college requires all students to take two online Technology Proficiency Exams. These exams are accessible through the Web.

Who Should Take the Exam?

All incoming students are required to take the exam.

I Do Not Have Access to the Internet. What Should I Do?

Check out the Public Library. The Public Library is a great resource because not only does it contain books it also makes public computers available to its patrons. If this is not an option for you, then you can take the makeup exam on Sunday, August 27.

When is the Technology Proficiency Exam?

The exam will be available from Friday, June 16 through Friday, July 28. Since the exam is web based, students can take the test at anytime during this time-period. All students are strongly encouraged to take the technology exam in June and July.

Is There a Makeup Exam?

Students can take a makeup exam on Sunday, August 27. The exam on August 27 is a proctored exam. However, we encourage students to take the exam anytime between June 16 and July 28.

What Happens If I Do Not Take the Exam?

Students who do not take the exam will have their email password disabled. Your password will remain disabled until you take the exam.

Whom Do I Call If I Have Questions or Concerns?

Contact the Washington College Helpdesk. The Helpdesk is open from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday – Friday. You can reach the Helpdesk at 410-778-7777.
