Click on one of the links listed below to configure your browser to work with the Skillcheck testing software.

 

 

If you have problems installing the software, the Washington College HelpDesk
technical support can be reached at 410-778-7777. The HelpDesk is open 8:30 a.m.
– 4:30 p.m. Monday – Friday. You can also email the HelpDesk at
helpdesk@washcoll.edu.

If you have problems installing the software after hours
or cannot reach the Washington College HelpDesk, SkillCheck technical support can
help you with your software installation questions. They can be reached at 1-800-
648-3166. Follow the menu to reach technical support. SkillCheck technical support
is open Monday – Friday from 9:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.


Important Note :

The SkillCheck online testing environment is compatible with
Microsoft Windows Operating system including Windows 2000 or XP
using Internet Explorer or FireFox browsers, or with Apple OS X using the Safari
browser.


Configuring Internet Explorer
To Work With Skillcheck


1. Make sure that you have administrative rights for the computer on which you will
be testing.

2. Download and run the following:

3. Close all open browsers, and open a new Internet Explorer browser.

4. Click "Tools", and choose "Internet Options."

5. Click the "Settings" button toward the middle right of the window. Click on “Every
visit to the page”. Then, next to the heading "Amount of Disk Space to Use," change
whatever number is in the field to a 1. Then click OK. This will take you back to the
Internet Options window.

6. Click the "Delete Files" button, and check the "Delete All Offline Content" box,
then click OK. This will take you back to the Internet Options window.

7. At the top of the window, click the "Security" tab. Click the "Default Level" button,
and move the slider to "Medium." Then click the “Apply” button.

8. Click the Advanced tab at the top of the window, and in the lower-right corner
click the "Restore Defaults" button. Click the “Apply” button. Then click OK.

9. At this point, go to your e-ticket in your e-mail and click on the SkillCheck login
link to begin the exam.


Configuring Apple OS X Safari
To Work With Skillcheck


1. Open the Safari web browser.

2. Under “Safari” select the “Reset Safari” menu item. Click on “Reset”

3. At this point, go to your e-ticket in your e-mail and click on the Skill Check log in
link to begin the exam and software installation.
