Mission Statement
The office of IT Systems & Infrastructure is responsible for maintaining both the administrative and the public computer servers of Washington College as well as for the wired and wireless networks, for the telephone system and for providing the copper, fiber and wireless infrastructure that supports the needs of the Washington College community. These groups represent the backbone of support for all IT services at the College.
The Administrative Computing group supports the financial, human resources, student and donor applications for Washington College. Infrastructure is responsible for the operation of the server systems that provide email, Internet access, Blackboard, etc.; for wired and wireless network and telephone services; and for all Washington College technology equipment purchases. The groups assess, evaluate, design and implement systems and network utilities as appropriate.
Services & Support
Network Support
Dave de'Marsi (410-810-7423) provides campus Ethernet and Wireless networks for all academic, administrative buildings and dorms, maintains Internet Service for faculty, staff and students. Provides the network for simulcast of special events as well as graduation. Provides dial-in accounts for faculty and staff.
Phone Support
Mark Brown (410-778-7272) installs and repairs all campus related telephone lines and equipment. Works in conjunction with campus Switchboard Office to provide telephone authorization codes and calling cards, staff cellular and pager services, and telephone billing for students. staff and departments.
Switchboard
The Switchboard (Extension 0) provides operators for the campus central switchboard, college information services, and campus directory assistance for both on campus and off campus number lookup. Directory Service can be reached by dialing "0" from any campus phone. The switchboard also assists the Telecommunications Engineer with other telecommunications related services. This office also provides administrative assistance to the OIT Director and department.
Acquisitions
Sara A. Smith (410-778-7290) provides for the accurate and timely acquisitions of all goods, materials and services used by the Office of Information Technologies. The Acquisitions Coordinator tracks all goods and material maintenance and services contracts, orders all goods and services. The Acquisitions Coordinator verifies order information, orders, receives, and processes invoices for all goods, materials and services.

Trouble reporting for any of the above services can be reported by contacting the HelpDesk at 410-778-7777. A trouble ticket will be logged and picked up by the appropriate department through our reporting system.
