Central Support Services distributes intercampus and US mail to student mailboxes. Student mailboxes are located on the 1st floor of the Casey Academic Center. Mail is usually available after 1:00 pm daily. Packages too large to fit into your mailbox will remain at Central Support Services. Students will receive an email notification when this occurs.
All correspondence needs to be enveloped and addressed before delivering to Central Services. We are not responsible for addressing and packaging. We do offer some specialty products for shipping of overnight and priority mailing. The customer can obtain these products from our office and package and address it before presenting to our office for shipping.
All personal mail must be paid for at the time of service. Personal charges are not permitted through Central Services.
Outgoing mail must be presented in an orderly fashion with mail flaps down, separate and flat. On campus mail should be kept separate from outgoing mail. Faculty and student mail must be presented in alpha order and staff mail in office order.
All mail for the United States Post Office must be delivered to Central Services by 3:00pm daily to ensure same day service. The mail goes out 3:30pm daily.
Postage stamps are available for purchase from Central Services. Students can purchase individual and books of stamps.
We provide a shipping service through UPS, Federal Express and the US Postal Service. Take advantage of our overnight and 2-3 day delivery service. For more information about our shipping service call extension 7871.
Federal Express packages need to be hand delivered to Central Services before 2:00pm in order to go out the same day. Anything arriving after that time will go out the following business day. We can process letters for offices to take to the Federal Express drop off box down town. It is the office of origin’s responsibility to take mail to the drop box. Federal Express is picked up downtown at 4:30pm each business day.
All mail for the United Parcel Service must be delivered to Central Services by 3:00pm daily to ensure same day service. UPS mailings go out at 3:30pm daily.

Central Services offers networked, high-speed black and white copy service to campus community. All campus related copies are 5 cents per copy. Students must pay for copies at time of pick up. We offer a variety of color as well as hard stock paper for your copying needs. Legal and ledger size copies are available as well. Transparencies are available at a cost of 45 cents per sheet. Call extension 7112 for more information.
Color ink-jet printing is available at a cost of 25 cents per page.
All copy requests must be electronically or hand delivered to Central Services. Please do not send through inter-campus mail. Central Services will not assemble copy jobs. For example, we do not hand staple booklets or paper clip. All color copy requests need to be pre-authorized before final printing. We reserve the right to refuse requests for copy jobs that are too large for our color copier’s capacity.
We offer mechanical, letter folding services to campus offices. Single sheet folding is available in a number of folds for letter and legal size copies. Call extension 7871 for further information.

OIT provides and maintains multipurpose public computer labs on campus. Academic classes have priority in these labs, but when classes are not utilizing the lab, the labs are open to members of the Washington College community.

Instructional Technology is responsible for supporting the instructional uses of technology in the classroom. We achieve this goal by providing leadership, guidance and training in those technologies that help faculty and students enhance their teaching and learning experience.
Through the Beck Instructional Lab and the Multimedia Production Center, Instructional Technology can engage the Washington College community with emerging technologies and technological skills.

OIT offers a Software Site License Service for the Washington College community. Washington College provides free upgrades for the Mac and Windows operating system, the Microsoft Office suite of applications and Norton and McAfee virus protection software. To upgrade your OS or any of the aforementioned applications, contact the HelpDesk at 410-778-7777.
Before purchasing new software, please check with Gene Sheehan at 410-810-7168 to find out if OIT has a site license or if discount pricing is available. Checking with OIT first may save you money.

Washington College Technical Services provides a wide variety of technology support to the campus community. We support the services that you use every day, both those you see as well as the those behind the scenes.
Working in our offices adjacent to the HelpDesk, in your residence hall testing and repairing network jacks, deploying new computer equipment, or providing audio/visual support for campus events, you'll see us serving the entire campus. Our behind the scenes support includes services such as Zimbra.
In whatever capacity we serve you, rest assured that you are getting technology support from the best. Our staff includes technicians certified to provide warranty service on IBM and Apple computers, and are qualified to repair almost any computer. Our education, experience, and certifications enable us to provide quality support with confidence.
